The thumbs up salute used to mean “Way to go!” Lately, it seems to have taken on a new meaning: “I’m a compassionless, culturally ignorant Westerner making a jackass of myself at the expense of others’ human rights and dignity.”

I’m just waiting for the photo of Donald Rumsfeld giving the thumbs up while sporting a necklace made of severed human ears.

Because that’s what America is all about, isn’t it? Having the freedom to accessorize with the dismembered appendages of the enemy.
